When verifying reports, confirm only if you have direct knowledge. False verifications degrade the trust network.
Protect Privacy
Never share personal information about victims, reporters, or bystanders. All reports can be submitted anonymously.

How are safety scores calculated?▾
Safety scores combine community-reported incidents, historical data from NBS Nigeria, ACLED conflict data, and infrastructure metrics. Scores are weighted by recency, verification count, and severity.
Can I report anonymously?▾
Yes. All reports can be submitted anonymously. Your identity is never shared with other users unless you explicitly opt in.
What happens when I verify a report?▾
Your verification increases the report's confidence score and helps it surface to more users in the area. Verified reports are weighted higher in safety score calculations.
How do route safety scores work?▾
Routes are scored by analyzing community-reported incidents along the path within the last 7 days. Each segment is color-coded: green (safe), amber (moderate), orange (high risk), red (critical).
What data sources does Chipon use?▾
Community reports (real-time), NBS Nigeria crime statistics, ACLED armed conflict data, HDX humanitarian data, and weather API alerts.
How do safe zones work?▾
Safe zones are locations you mark as important (home, work). You receive priority alerts for incidents near these zones, even if they're outside your general awareness radius.
